None Of Them Looking Good

By Jeff Collerson

The super consistent None Of Them, who has been placed in four of his seven starts, has finally drawn the right box to open his Wentworth Park account on Saturday night.

Trained by Paul Roach at Lidsdale, near Lithgow, None Of Them has box one and should get a clear run courtesy of Sorrento Moon, box two, who got wide when sixth at her debut at the track last Saturday night.

None Of Them will relish the drop in class on Saturday after bungling the start from box six when fifth to ZIPPING Tarn in a tougher fifth grade last Saturday night.

“He has gone up with the lids at his past couple of Wentworth Park starts but is usually a good beginner and box one will suit him,’’ Roach said.

“In each of his Wentworth Park placings he has made the pace but a really strong finisher has managed to sit right behind him on the back straight.

“Having said that, None Of Them is stronger at the end of 520 metres now than when he began his Wentworth Park career.

“I think the only way he can get beaten on Saturday is if Oh So Striking, who is very strong, is on his hammer in the middle stages.’’

If None Of Them breaks through for a well deserved city win Roach won’t be there to see it.

“I’ll be sending the dog down with Ross Davidson because I have 70 greyhounds to care for on my own on my property and it is virtually impossible for me to find time to come to Sydney,’’ he said.

Dusty Moonshine, who broke the Gosford 731m record on June 3, will attempt a first-up Wentworth Park win in Saturday night’s $20,000 to the winner GBOTA Distance Challenge Final.

But trainer Denice Warren has disclosed that Dusty Moonshine, who has won six of her 12 starts, has been trialled at WP.

“She has had a look at Wenty,’’ Warren said.

After her record breaking Gosford win Dusty Moonshine was beaten into second place by John’s Son when a $1.70 favourite in a 565m Maitland race.

Although Dusty Moonshine was second from the middle stages, Warren she had been satisfied with her greyhound’s performance.

“She did what I expected her to do because 565 metres is really a bit short for her,’’ she said.

“But I had to put her in the Maitland race to make sure she qualified for this week’s Wentworth Park final.

“And after the race Ron Bell, who trains John’s Son, told me he had been confident of winning because he said his dog just loves the Maitland track.’’

Saturday night’s safest bet should be the Victorian-trained but NSW-owned star Keybow in the Rapidvite Stakes.

Keybow, one of the unlucky runners from the Group 1 Rapidvite Peter Mosman Classic series, has drawn box eight in the fourth grade event.

I reckon owner Kelvin Lean would be delighted because after Keybow’s unlucky second to Push It in a Mosman heat, Kel said he believed box eight would suit Keybow.

The dog won his only start from the extreme outside alley and as a group winning star looks well placed in Saturday’s race.

One of the best drawn runners on Saturday night is the Marie Burton-trained Asia’s Babe, a wide runner who has box seven in the Luke Jon Shearer On Itunes Stakes.

Asia’s Babe ran out and collided at the start when third, from box two, in ZIPPING Delta’s Peter Mosman Classic heat on June 7.

After a quick start from box one in her semi-final she again ducked out wide before finishing sixth to Tommy Brislane.

She will relish the drop to fifth grade on Saturday and has won from box seven, the draw she has this week.
