Intriguing Peter Mosman Semis Draw

By Stuart Turner

Glenn Rounds has admitted he turned the air blue after seeing this Saturday night’s mouth-watering semi-final of the Rapidvite Peter Mosman Classic at Wentworth Park.

His charge All Strung Out (pictured) was an impressive heat performer but has been drawn in box six and will be outside second fastest qualifier Cawbourne Whip and facing other tough contestants in the 520m race.

Rounds’ promising campaigner  went sub-30 seconds in last Saturday night’s heat and will go into the race having placed on all seven of his career outings so far.

Victorian trainer Rounds is trying to look on the bright side but conceded his reaction to the draw had not been pleasant.

“You can’t print it,” he said ruefully.

“He is on the inside of Cawbourne Whip and I don’t know if she will get away from box five.

“You just don’t want to be posted deep at Wentworth Park or you will be in trouble.

“I was happy with the dog’s run (in the heats). It was a really good effort.

“The dog has pulled up well from Saturday night. He is a fit dog and in good condition.

“We’ll give him some free galloping this week, not change too much and see how he goes.”

Fastest qualifier Hooksy has box three in the first of the three heats after his storming 29.36 run in the heats on Saturday.

Also in the heat is Warrior King (box four), who will be inside Stilton Blue in five.

Both clocked times below 30 seconds in the heats.

Jason Mackay’s Zipping Delta has box three in the third heat and will go head to head with Push It (box two) in the race.

With Fire ElusiveAurora Girl and the previously unheralded Unbelief – three other dogs who went sub-30 seconds in last Saturday’s heats – going from boxes one, five and seven respectively, this should be a highly competitive heat.

The night also features the Sportingbet Sprint Series Final.

Fastest qualifier Sheara’s Mate goes from box three.

Ten races are on the card and action starts at 7.30pm.
