Collision Pup Tops Auction

The dust has settled on Dapto’s 16th Country Winnebago Puppy Auction with 280 lots going under the auctioneer’s hammer.

While average lot price ($2,819) was $100 below last year’s near-record mark, the stock on offer were presented in immaculate condition.

Top price went to the handsome son of champion sire Collision and the brilliant Fancy Mandy.

The black pup – whelped in late August last year – was knocked down for $20,000, while final bids for his four siblings ranged from $7,500 to $15,000. Dusty Retreat, the dam of smart youngsters Frattini and Bacash, was represented by six July 2013 pups, with the most expensive being a red fawn dog (lot 42) at $12,000.

The six Dusty Retreat pups realised $57,000 in total, an average of $9,500.

Though content with the result, Dapto GRC president Jack Primmer said a review of the day will be conducted and pointed towards changes for 2015.

Turnover on the auction was $789,500, $16,000 under the 2013 receipts.
