Ruth King Suspended

By GRNSW

The Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) Integrity Department this morning conducted surveillance relevant to the training activities of Ruth King.

During the surveillance it was observed that Ray King, who was warned off for life in 2000 following an Independent Commission Against Corruption investigation into the affairs of disgraced former chief steward Rodney Potter, was leading greyhounds trained by Ms King, including those engaged at Bulli tonight.

Due to the serious nature of the breach of the rules regarding disqualification and warning off, Ms King’s registration was suspended forthwith and greyhounds engaged tonight and over the coming days have been withdrawn.

An inquiry into the findings of the surveillance will be conducted at the earliest available date.

Mr King has previously been found guilty of failure to comply with the terms of warning off in 2007. GRNSW had received a further application from Mr King for a lifting of the penalty, after a previous application had been refused in July 2010.
