It could be a big couple of days coming up for Darren McDonald with the Devon Meadows trainer lining up a number of winning chances at Sandown Park on Thursday night prior to the heats of the Macro Meats Golden Easter Egg on Saturday.
McDonald's main chance on Thursday night looks to be Sweet It Is, who will compete in the sixth event of the night.
Sweet It Is produced an eye-catching second at Geelong at her last start and with a nice passage from box eight should be very hard to hold out in the 4/5th grade race.
McDonald also has Tiggerlong Chief taking part in the final event (race 12) on the card.
Tiggerlong Chief had been racing in good form before a disappointing fifth at Traralgon last start. Expect a better performance on Saturday where the son of Cosmic Chief will jump from box eight, a draw that should him well.
Following Thursday night, McDonald will have five runners in the heats of the Golden Easter Egg series, including Perth Cup winner Keybow and Gosford Cup winner Awesome Project.
Best bet of the night at Sandown is Mepunga Moss who is aiming for his fifth straight win. The good beginner will jump from box one and will be very hard to catch if he gets to the front early on.
