Greyhounds Australasia Limited (GA) has announced the appointment of Scott Parker as its new Chief Executive Officer.

GA Chairman Russell Ware said the Board was very pleased to have appointed someone of Scott’s calibre to one of the industry’s most important leadership roles.

“The GA Board is delighted to have appointed Scott Parker to the role of Greyhounds Australasia CEO. Scott is an experienced CEO and brings significant leadership, advocacy and public affairs experience to our industry. He has been CEO of Basketball Victoria and has spent the past ten years in senior corporate public affairs roles specialising in issues management, media relations and strategic communications. He holds an MBA from Melbourne Business School.

“As the directors of the peak body of the Australasian Greyhound industry, the GA Board was determined to appoint a CEO with not only team management and administrative experience but also the industry leadership capability that would advance GA’s engagement with all stakeholders and improve our capacity to identify and manage issues that are, and will, impact on our industry’s reputation. Scott will be at the forefront of those efforts.

“This is an exciting time for GA and I look forward to working closely with Scott as we strive to meet the growing expectations of our members and the wider greyhound racing community and as we collaborate with others who share our greyhound welfare and sustainable industry priorities,” Mr Ware said.

Mr Parker said he was delighted to have been appointed to the role.

“It’s an honour to be appointed CEO of this wonderful organisation. I look forward to building on the great work of the GA Board and team to ensure this fabulous industry flourishes long term,” Mr Parker said.
