Rema's Ivory Poised To Break Through At Wenty

By Jeff Collerson

Rema’s Ivory will go into Friday night’s Sportingbet Bathurst To Wenty Final without a trial on the Wentworth Park track but her ability to jump fast and get on the bunny should offset that disadvantage.

That’s the opinion of the bitch’s trainer Eddie Foyle who describes Rema’s Ivory as "a good Little bread and butter bitch".

"She came out quickly when she led all the way in her heat at Bathurst and usually jumps well, although like most of them she can miss the kick occasionally," he said.

"Rema’s Ivory recently had a touch of water diabetes so I had to give her a couple of weeks off before the Bathurst heats on March 3 to get her right.

"Because of that I didn’t get a chance to put her around Wentworth Park but that shouldn’t worry her as she is back to her best now.

"If she comes out like she usually does she should lead and they’ll have to catch her."

In her Bathurst heat win in the equal fastest time of 30.22, Rema’s Ivory exited box four and used a bit of the track so looks reasonably well positioned in box five at Wentworth Park.

Isabel Enlim, box six, ran wide at the first turn at Bathurst so should give Rema’s Ivory room to move in the early stages.

Friday’s stand out bet is Little Satisfies, who has box one in race one.

Little Satisfies is a litter sister to her owner trainer Ryan Tredway’s impressive Wentworth Park debut winner Pad Burner from last Saturday night’s meeting.

But while Pad Burner led throughout in 29.97, Little Satisfies had missed the jump before finishing a great second to King Odessa at the same meeting in a tidy 30.05.

Little Satisfies railed superbly after her slow start to be third on the back straight and overhauled Fancy Pete, who has broken 30 seconds at Wentworth Park, to claim second prizemoney.

From box one Little Satisfies should get the run of the race and Nice Deal, her main danger on form, is awkwardly placed in box five.

Iona Tokyo will be on trial for a start in next month’s Macro Meats Golden Easter Egg when she attempts her third successive Wentworth Park win in Friday night’s eighth race.

There isn’t a greyhound in training who has come out of the boxes faster than Iona Tokyo did in her all the way wins at Wentworth Park on February 21 and March 3.

After she posted 29.71 in the latter victory trainer Frank Sidrak began to focus on the Easter Egg.

"When a greyhound can ping the lids and lead and get well under 30 seconds it is probably capable of winning anything," Frank said.

"Iona Tokyo did not perform as well as her sister Iona Seven when she went to Robbie Britton’s kennels in Melbourne.

"Although Iona Seven, who won the Paws Of Thunder for us, was only two tenths of a second faster when they went to Melbourne, Iona Tokyo was homesick so did not perform as well.

"She is a different greyhound since she has been back home where she was born and bred."
