Dr Humphries Withdraws Appeal

By GRNSW

Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) advises that the NSW Racing Appeals Tribunal today heard an appeal by veterinary surgeon Dr Ted Humphries against a decision of GRNSW on 28 November 2013 to warn off Dr Humphries following his failure to appear at inquiry hearings in November as directed. The hearings were to investigate comments made by Dr Humphries on the 7.30 program aired on ABC television on 15 October 2013.

At the request of Counsel for Dr Humphries, GRNSW consented to the withdrawal by Dr Humphries of his appeal on the written undertaking by Dr Humphries that he will now attend the offices of GRNSW at a mutually convenient time and date in order to assist GRNSW in its investigations, subject to certain confidentiality requirements. In particular, Dr Humphries will assist by answering questions and producing documents and information relevant to matters affecting the greyhound racing industry about which he has knowledge. Dr Humphries' undertaking was provided by him and consented to by GRNSW without any admissions by either party.

GRNSW will provide Dr Humphries with a series of dates in order to arrange a mutual date and time to seek his assistance in the matter.

In the particular circumstances, the warning off order has been lifted.
