Geoff’s Flying With Talented Litter

By Jeff Collerson

Geoff Sattler, who trained Cavendish Flyer, one of NSW’s top sprinters of 2011 and 2012, is back in action with Lucky Point clocking a brilliant 29.84 to win at The Gardens last Wednesday.

The northern coalfields trainer had the misfortune to see Cavendish Flyer (pictured) break down after she had won 10 of just 26 starts, among them wins in a blistering 29.34 at The Gardens and 29.90 at Wentworth Park.

But while he is waiting for Cavendish Flyer’s first litter sired by Fabregas, and just seven months old, to be ready to race, Geoff is set to have plenty of success with Lucky Point and his siblings.

"Lucky Point is out of Lucky Fina, who I trained for my mate Mick Landrigan, at Grafton," Geoff said.

"Lucky Fina was a very good bitch who won 22 out of 48 starts including wins in 30.12 and 30.29 at Wentworth Park.

"Her first mating to Elite State produced only one pup but this second litter, to Where’s Pedro, can all run.

"Lucky Point is very promising but his problem is he lacks the early speed to post quick splits.

"But he is very strong and when he won at The Gardens on Wednesday his run home time was 12.02, which is phenomenal.

"Mick has won five at Grafton with Where’s Fina, another from the litter, and he has sent that greyhound down to me.

"From Lucky Fina’s second litter I’m also training He’s A Knight, who won twice before getting hurt and being sidelined, along with Zane’s Point, who finished second at The Gardens last Wednesday."
