Ladbrokes Golden Easter Egg (G1)

Wentworth Park Abandoned. Golden Easter Egg Rescheduled.

By GRNSW
After severe overnight rainfall, forecasts of a continuation of inclement weather today and tomorrow, and following a track inspection this morning, Greyhound Racing NSW has made the decision to officially abandon tonight’s (Friday) race meeting at Wentworth Park and tomorrow night’s (Saturday’s) Wentworth Park meeting.

With continuing uncertainty around when the inclement weather will ease and allow the track team to perform significant remedial maintenance on the racing surface, and with several participants travelling long distances to race, it was decided that an early decision was best for all stakeholders and participants.

The two race meetings will now be held on Friday April 12 and Saturday April 13, with the $350,000 final of the Ladbrokes Golden Easter Egg to be held on April 20.

Fresh nominations will be called for the heats of the Group 3 Ausure Ultra Sense and the GRNSW Masters events which were programmed for tonight. The heats will now be run on Friday April 12.

For the race meeting on April 13, the four semi-finals of the Ladbrokes Golden Easter Egg will remain unchanged. Fresh nominations will be called for the heats of the Group 1 Farrell’s Association Cup.

The finals of the Group 3 Magic Maiden and the Group 3 Simply Limelight New Sensation will be run as planned on April 13.

On April 20 at Wentworth Park, the finals of the Group 1 Ladbrokes Golden Easter Egg, the Group 1 Farrell’s Association Cup, the Group 3 Ultra Sense, the Group 3 Ambrosoli, and the GRNSW Masters will all be run.

Friday's race meeting at Ladbrokes Gardens has also been abandoned as have Saturday's meetings at Muswellbrook and at Potts Park.
