Advance is the national sponsor of Greyhounds as Pets and the Greyhound Adoption programmes in other states. Advance kindly provide food for the greyhounds in kennels and foster care.

Revolution is very kindly donated to us for the prevention of fleas, mites, mange and heartworm in our greyhounds. Pfizer also provides Canex for the prevention and treatment of internal parasites. In addition to helping our dogs whilst they are with us, samples of Revolution and Canex are also supplied to our adopters to help them help their dogs stay fit and healthy.

Rossmore Veterinary Hospital has built up a strong greyhound client base. Led by Dr Ted Humphries, the team is keenly involved in greyhound medicine. We have formed close relationships with GRNSW’s Greyhounds As Pets scheme and with the GBOTA as Dr Humphries performs the duties as race night veterinarian at Wentworth Park. We welcome all aspects of greyhound medicine using the latest technology such as MRI, digital X-ray, laser injury treatment and blood testing while also providing a canine swimming therapy/training pool and boarding kennels. We really appreciate the opportunity to be associated with the Greyhounds As Pets scheme and are strong supporters of the great work they do for the greyhound.

Avoca Drive Animal Hospital was instigated by Dr Elizabeth O’Connor in 2004 and since then has been providing welfare work re-homing dogs which now of course includes cooperation with Greyhounds As Pets to re-home retired racing greyhounds. The hospital is fully behind their work as they can see what an unjust reputation this breed has and what wonderful pets they make. Staff are regularly confronted with obese pets and of course greyhounds almost never have issues with obesity! As well as this greyhounds have extremely few problems with disease compared with other breeds as a result of their breeding. |
